Trunk-connected lighting eliminates the usual light string hassle. Mixed PE and PVC needles (around 20-30% PE). 800 LEDs puts it right at industry standard. Some quality control hiccups reported.
- Lights connect through the trunk - no wrestling with plugs
- Lighting coverage is solid for a full tree
- Dual-color switching gives you options
- Good density when fluffed out
- Remote and timer included
- Still need to budget an hour for fluffing
- Some folks got broken branches out of the box
- Mid-range PE percentage, not premium
- Dual-color means switchable, not both at once
What You're Getting
The Glendale Spruce tackles one of the more annoying parts of artificial tree setup: connecting all those light strings. The lights connect internally through the trunk, so you just stack the sections and you're done. No more crawling around trying to figure out which plug goes where.
The needles are a mix of molded PE (the realistic-looking ones), PVC hard needle pine, and traditional PVC. The PE percentage sits around 20-30%, which is decent for the price point. The thick PE needles blend well enough with the harder pine needles that you get some visual depth without everything looking obviously plastic.
With 1,695 tips across 52 inches, it's got good density for a full tree. At 7.5 feet, it'll work for most standard ceilings with room for a topper.
Setup Reality Check
Setup takes about what you'd expect: maybe 15-20 minutes to get the sections stacked and branches unfolded. The trunk-connected lights save you 5-10 minutes vs manually connecting separate light strings.
But here's what they don't emphasize: you still need 30-60 minutes of fluffing to get that full, lush look from the product photos. The Quick-Set name makes it sound like you'll be done in 15 minutes flat, but that's only if you're okay with a somewhat sparse-looking tree.
Total time is around 40-60 minutes vs maybe 60-90 for trees where you're manually connecting lights. Faster, but not dramatically so.
The Lights
800 micro LEDs work out to about 107 lights per foot. Industry standard for full trees runs 100-150 lights per foot, so this lands right in the middle. Coverage should be even without obvious dark spots once you've got everything fluffed.
The "dual-color" thing means you can switch between clear and multicolor modes with the remote. It's not both at the same time - pick one or the other. You get 12 different functions to play with: steady, twinkling, fading, and various combinations.
Timer does the standard 6 hours on, 18 hours off cycle if you want to set it and forget it.
Quality Notes
The reviews tell an interesting story: 3.9 stars from 9 reviews, but it's split between people who love it (five 5-star reviews) and people who had problems (two 1-star reviews). That's a bit of a red flag.
The most recent negative review mentions a broken branch that won't seat properly in the socket. That's a manufacturing defect, not a setup error. When the tree shows up intact, people seem happy with it. But if you get a dud, dealing with returns during the holidays is nobody's idea of fun.
Bottom line: inspect it right away when it arrives. The 3-year warranty is nice, but catching problems before you're past the return window is way easier.
