The Snowy Berkshire delivers a proper flocked pine tree look at a budget-friendly price. The medium-coverage flocking creates a frosted winter appearance without overwhelming the pine character, and it actually stays on the tree instead of migrating to your floor. The warm white LEDs are evenly distributed and create a cozy glow. Just plan on spending some time fluffing branches at the section connections, especially toward the top.

What we like
  • Flocking quality is solid for the price—stays on the tree, creates nice frosted look
  • Pine character shows through the flocking—actually reads as a pine tree
  • Warm white lights are evenly distributed and look inviting
  • Pre-decorated pinecones aren't lost in the flocking, add authentic pine detail
  • SteadyBright lights keep working even if a bulb dies
Where it could improve
  • Needs some fluffing at section connections, particularly toward the top
  • Ornaments don't hang as easily as they should—hooks don't grab securely
  • Tree topper placement is frustrating—traditional stake-style toppers don't work well

What You're Actually Getting

The Snowy Berkshire is a flocked pine tree that actually looks like a flocked pine tree—which is more than you can say for some trees in this category. The flocking is that medium-coverage frosted look: clearly snowy but not like someone went overboard with fake snow. The pine needle character comes through the flocking, and the pre-decorated pinecones add to the authentic pine aesthetic without getting lost in the white. Worth noting: the pine needles are quite long, which gives it an authentic pine look but can read a bit unusual to some eyes—almost fur-like in texture. It's one of those style elements that people either appreciate or find a bit off-putting.

The flocking quality is honestly better than it needs to be at this price point. It stays put on the tree instead of creating a trail of white flakes across your house every time you walk past it. That alone is worth something if you've dealt with cheaper flocked trees that shed everywhere.

The 7.5ft full size has a 50-inch diameter and 657 branch tips. That tip count might seem low compared to fir or spruce trees, but it's appropriate for a pine—the larger needle size means fewer tips are needed to create fullness.

Setup & Fluffing

The warm white LEDs do their job—they're evenly distributed and create that cozy holiday glow you want from a pre-lit tree. The SteadyBright feature is actually useful: if a bulb burns out, the rest stay lit instead of taking down the whole strand with it. Less time troubleshooting, more time enjoying your tree. The foot pedal on the larger sizes is convenient.

The pole-to-pole wiring—which Holiday Living calls "Quick Set" like it's revolutionary—is really just standard setup that most trees have these days. It works fine: slide the sections together, plug in once, you're done.

Plan on spending 30-40 minutes spreading branches and positioning them to fill out the tree. Pay attention to where the sections connect, particularly toward the top—you'll want to spread those branches out to close any gaps. The branches aren't "Simple Shape" self-shaping despite what the marketing suggests, but a little work gets it looking good.

The Decorating Challenges

Fair warning: this tree doesn't make decorating easy. The combination of flocking and the branch structure means your ornaments don't just hang nicely like they would on a standard tree. The hooks don't grab as securely, and you'll find yourself fussing with placement more than usual.

The tree topper situation is even more annoying. Multiple reviewers have reported trying several different toppers before giving up on the traditional stake-through-the-top style. The top just doesn't accommodate them well. Your best bet is a lightweight topper that sits over the top rather than stakes into it. It's a small frustration, but it's one of those things that catches people off guard.

Value & Verdict

For under $300 (7.5ft), you're getting a flocked pine tree with warm white lights and better-than-expected flocking quality. The all-PVC construction is what you'd expect at this price point for a flocked tree. The fact that the pine character actually shows through the flocking is a win—you get a winter pine aesthetic, not just a generic white tree.

The 2-year warranty is shorter than some competitors offer, and the decorating quirks (ornament hooks, tree topper issues) are real. But the overall package delivers on what it promises: a decent flocked pine look without premium pricing.

This tree makes sense for: Someone who wants the flocked pine aesthetic without spending premium money, doesn't mind spending 30-40 minutes on setup and fluffing, and can work around some decorating challenges. If you want a winter wonderland pine look at a reasonable price, it delivers.

Skip it if: You want easy decorating (the ornament and topper issues are real), or you need something that looks perfect right out of the box with minimal effort.
